Procter & Gamble has been selected as one of the
Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World at the
World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The honor, awarded by
Corporate Knights Inc. and
Innovest Strategic Value Advisors Inc., goes to companies who effectively manage environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities relative to their industry peers.
As detailed in "Designed to Innovate...Sustainably", P&G's most recent annual sustainability report, the company reduced water consumption by seven percent, energy usage by six percent, and CO2 emissions by eight percent.
This is the first time the company has been named to the Global 100, which was launched in 2005.
