Fortune Magazine's 2008 rankings show Greater Cincinnati with nine Fortune 500 companies, with seven more making the Fortune 1000.
The top 100 companies includes
Procter & Gamble, the
Kroger Company, and
Macy's Inc.
Also in the Fortune 500 are
Fifth Third Bancorp,
Ashland Inc.,
AK Steel Holdings,
Omnicare Inc.,
Western & Southern Financial Group, and
Chiquita Brands International, Inc.
The region also had 16 Fortune 1000 companies on the 2007 list.
