The successful production of drinking water that consistently meets or exceeds state water quality standards landed the
Northern Kentucky Water District (NKWD) a state award for water quality excellence.
NKWD is among 31 water treatment plants in Kentucky to win the honor and was among 155 public and private water treatment plants in the state that participated in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Area-Wide Optimization Program (AWOP).
This is the second year in a row the NKWD has received this award. "Outstanding water quality is a goal we work to meet and exceed every day, so we are very pleased to be recognized for our success in that area," said Bari Joslyn, Vice President of Water Quality and Production at NKWD.
