Cincy Stories bridges community divides

After analysis company 24/7 Wall Street ranked Cincinnati as the fifth most segregated U.S. city in 2015, Chris Ashwell and Shawn Braley set out to bridge the divides prevalent in neighborhoods across the city.

Together, they formed Cincy Stories, a multimedia storytelling platform, which focuses on sharing stories that originate from neighborhoods experiencing change and development. By bringing people of different backgrounds together to have face-to-face interactions, they’ve helped bridge divides and form relationships.

Since adding documentaries in 2016, they have won three regional Emmy Awards and hope to help program developers in other cities implement a similar platform.
