Happy Birthday America
July 4
How would Sam Adams (the man, not the beer) celebrate Independence Day if he were alive today? With so many celebrations happening this weekend it would be hard to decide. So here are a few suggestions on what to do. The All American Birthday Celebration takes over Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove for an all day birthday party complete with food, cornhole, rides and live music all day long. Or hit the other cove, Ault Park Cove that is, for the Ault Park Independence Day Celebration. Children's programs begin at 10:30 a.m. and Jake Speed and the Freddies will perform Cincinnati favorites starting at 6:00 p.m. If you're looking for a more classic way to celebrate, Red, White and Boom! is perfect for you. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra -as part of Red Hot NIghts - will put on an all-American show at Riverbend Music Center. Performing the best American songs and anthems, the performance highlight will be Copland's Lincoln Portrait in honor of the Lincoln Bicentennial. Click here for tickets to the Boom. The best part is, no matter where you choose to go, when the sun goes down the fireworks go up.
