Design Impact is an organization that uses design to create community change. In my role, I help organizations and individuals execute projects and programs that use creative approaches to address challenges in their communities.
What do you like best about this job?
Not only do I get to use the design process and other creative strategies to solve problems, I am also working with some of our region's most talented organizations and individuals. I feel like I have an opportunity to learn from leaders and thinkers who are having a tremendous impact on our place by tackling difficult issues such as education, sustainability, job creation and poverty.
What's great about living/working in Cincinnati?
I am a Cincinnati transplant, and what I have found refreshing about this city is the ability and willingness of people and groups to collaborate. People here are passionate about our city, and many are eager to try to new things to strengthen our region. This makes it a fun place to do this kind of work.
What part of town do you live in, and what do you most like about the neighborhood in which you live?
I live in
Over-the-Rhine with my husband and my daughter. I love the walkability of my community and the unique features that make it a great place to raise family—
Washington Park,
Findlay Market, outstanding architecture and history, a real sense of community and a quick walk to our vibrant downtown and riverfront.
