FreestoreFoodbank among seven markets to receive mobile pantries

Kraft Foods and Feeding America have announced an expanded effort to reach hungry families, and they have chosen FreestoreFoodbank and Cincinnati as one of their seven pilot markets.

The Kraft Mobile Pantry will help feed thousands of Americans at risk of hunger by bringing food directly to communities that are currently underserved by food pantries, soup kitchens and other emergency-feeding programs.

"This new mobile pantry vehicle will add a valuable dimension of flexibility to our food bank operation, enabling us to distribute food in underserved areas more economically and efficiently," says FreestoreFoodbank president and CEO John J. Young in a media release.

The new national mobile pantry program is expected to deliver more than 50 million meals over the next three years.
