Cincinnati, US states woo IT giants

In a reversal of recent trends, the United States is now wooing Indian IT firms to locate to America.

At the forefront of this movement is the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, which is visiting India in an attempt to convince the country's second-largest IT firm, Infosys Technologies, to locate in our region.

And after its success in luring Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to Clermont County, the chamber is meeting with Tata's other business groups in the hopes of bringing them here.

"It is no longer about outsourcing, but round-sourcing," Joseph Deher, an attorney who helped set up TCS's local operation, tells the Economic Times.  "No company that wants to be global can afford to be in one location anymore,” he added, noting that these Indian companies may help bring Americans back into the technical fields.
