Scientist awaits cicadas' noisy return

Gene Kritsky, a professor of biology at the College of Mount St. Joseph, is eagerly awaiting the return of cicadas this May on Cincinnati's east side.

As always, Kritsky will be collecting data on the creatures as part of his long-term study.

"The cicadas are slowly revealing their secrets," Kritsky says in the UPI article.

Cicadas last made their appearance in eastern parts of Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties in 1991.

The bugs are also expected in parts of Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, and along the eastern seaboard from Massachusetts to North Carolina.
