Tri-State gives one-third of candidates’ Ohio funds

In the fight for presidency, Greater Cincinnati area remains Ohio’s political war chest when it comes to raising funds for the 2008 presidential candidates Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.

The Business Courier reported that according to Federal Election Commission, John McCain has raised nearly 5 million dollars in Ohio through the end of September and 36% came from this region alone. On the flip side, data showed Barack Obama has generated almost $3 million in donations from the state and about 29 percent comes from the Tri-State area.
 
Both campaigns are working to identify the issues that voters care about in an effort to “micro-target” those voters who are still uncommitted.
