Sound off on streetcar proposal February 2-3

The first Give Back Cincinnati Sounding Sessions of the year will be held February 2 and 3 in Music Hall's Cincinnati Opera Garrett Board Room from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Participants will have the chance to hear a brief presentation on the streetcar proposal, which consists of a Downtown-Over-the-Rhine circulator loop with a connection to Uptown.

"The Sounding Sessions will provide an opportunity for YPs to ask questions about the streetcar system, provide feedback and to be aware of what they can do to support the streetcar system if they choose to," says Cheryl Besl, civic engagement coordinator for Give Back Cincinnati.

Cincinnati city manager Milton Dohoney Jr. is the featured speaker on February 2.

A speaker for the following day is still being sought.

Held quarterly, Sounding Sessions give young professionals the opportunity to discuss civic issues with local elected officials and organizations.

This year, Give Back Cincinnati plans to have two sessions per topic to accommodate attendees' busy schedules and to allow for more involvement and feedback.

"The Sounding Sessions offer a unique opportunity that’s not available in a lot of cities, giving YPs access to city leaders – to ask questions and provide input," Besl says.  "Take advantage of it."

Registration for either Sounding Session can be made on the Give Back Cincinnati website.
