Cole + Russell to move to 600 Vine

Cole + Russell Architects will leave its Pete Rose Way facility for a new downtown corporate headquarters in The Center at 600 Vine.

The firm will occupy the 22nd and 23rd floors of the tower.

The company had been searching for 30,000 square feet of space since last fall, and had made an offer on the former Frisch's space at Fourth and Race streets.

That building ended up being purchased by Madison Marquette, who had a development agreement on the property.

Cole + Russell president and CEO David Arends says that recent growth - and a desire to remain downtown - led to the decision.

"We're excited by the positive energy downtown and are thrilled to be even more centrally located than we are now on Pete Rose Way", he says.  "We are pleased to be able to take full advantage of the unique amenities that the downtown area has to offer for our staff and clients."

Cole + Russell will implement their own design philosophy in the redesign of the new space, which is being done in-house through the use of the building information modeling software Revit Architecture.

They'll also be seeking LEED certification through the incorporation of sustainable materials such as:

  • Low-flow plumbing and water fixtures
  • The use of materials with high recycled content
  • Optimizing daylighting for regularly occupied spaces

Cole + Russell plans to move into the new space in April 2009.
