Soapbox's Commercial Challenge Ups the Ante

If you could make a commercial for Cincinnati, what would it look like?

Inspired in part by Chrysler's now infamous "Imported from Detroit" commercial that had its first airing during the Super Bowl, Soapbox wants to see what the Queen City looks like through the eyes of people who live, work and play here. We're calling out local filmmakers, amateur and pro, to make your 30 second to 1 minute long commercial about Cincinnati.

What or who would you highlight to show off your city?  Is it our architecture, arts, music, or foodie culture? What about our cool businesses, cutting edge festivals, innovative people, and great parks? We're looking for attitude, not the obvious - a spot that really showcases our city's ongoing renaissance.

The winner will receive $200 and a feature slot showcasing your video in an upcoming issue of Soapbox. In addition, the winning video will be shown on the big LED board at Fountain Square. As an added incentive for student submitted entries, our video partners, Seven/Seventy-Nine, are also offering an intern opportunity for the winning producer/director.

The rules are simple:  your commercial should be no longer than one minute and must include local music (you're responsible for getting permission from your favorite local musician). Once you're done you can upload your entry to Vimeo and send us the link here

All entries are due April 25th.

What are you waiting for?  Show us your Cincinnati.
