New owners bring new developments at Manhattan Harbour

Manhattan Harbour, a residential community envisioned along the Ohio River in Dayton, Ky., was recently acquired by a new development company, Manhattan Development Group. The change comes a few months after one of its developments,  Gateway Flats, opened in September. The loft apartments, all with river views, range from $1,275 to $2,100 a month.

Two buildings are under construction: River Haus, which has attached single-family homes, and River Commons, featuring two-bedroom condos. Prices for those will start at $350,000.

Manhattan Harbour’s concept began in the mid-2000s. The development comes backed with a team that had a vision even after looking at what was a “mud pit” in 2014, according to a press release.

The team includes Brendan Sullivan, managing partner and Dayton resident, and managing partner and real estate investor Miles Scully. They have joined with DMG Contractors and Cutter Construction and are coordinating with WorK Architecture + Design.

Sitting adjacent to the development site is Queen City Riverboats, a yacht and boat rental company. Queen City Riverboats was recently acquired and is now under renovation by Don Jones, who also owns Rivertowne Marina, according to the press release.

Near the Manhattan Harbour development are 11 miles of new walking trails, dining, shopping, and boating.

“We anticipate the excitement of breaking ground on another one of the proposed buildings in the coming weeks,” said Katrina Robke Holtmeier of Scarlett Property Group. The firm is representing Sullivan and his group for part of the development.

“Each building is unique in that it will add its own style to Manhattan Harbour. The developers are consistently going through plans so every detail makes a statement of luxury and beauty, while also being affordable through the highly anticipated lease-to-own program,” Holtmeier says.

“It is something they are proud of, and they hope the community of Dayton and Northern Kentucky will also wear that pride. Mr. Sullivan lives here, he loves this community, and he wants to see it thrive.”
