Encompass is an affiliate of Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services, a non-profit organization that serves adults with mental illness.
The company will take the work GCBHS does with individuals to a larger, corporate level, said Debbie Dutton-Lambert, Encompass Founder and Chief Executive of Training and Consulting.
Encompass professionals will offer training and consultation on site or via webinar to companies that want to better identify and help remedy mental health issues in the workplace.
"Based on our experience and research, we discovered there is a great need for this kind of service in the business world," explained Dutton-Lambert. "What employers don’t realize is that facing mental health problems head on costs far less than not addressing them at all. We believe our services can help effectively address mental health issues, and increase productivity and, ultimately, the financial health of an organization."
Dutton-Lambert, Chief Vocational Officer of GCBHS, has an MBA, is a licensed professional counselor with the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board and a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor through the CRCC. She and one other full-time employee are leading the business and other professionals can be brought in as consultants as needed.
Through training, which can be targeted to everyone for executives down the company ladder, Dutton-Lambert believes the lingering social stigma can be taken out of mental illness resulting in better, faster care. That's good for a company's bottom line, and their top assets, people.
The business was launched with the help of a $200,000 social entrepreneur grant from the
Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati.Encompass will have a launch event Feb. 24, from 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
