What do you like best about your job at CR Architecture + Design?
While I enjoy accounting, I also have a passion for architecture and design, and working at CR has allowed me to marry the two. I work with numbers all day, but I also get to see some of the creative process, and it’s exciting to watch our local projects come to fruition.
 
What's great about living/working in Cincinnati?
This is my first position working downtown and I already love it. The view from our office is amazing, and you can even see some of the projects CR has designed over the years. 
 
What part of town do you live in, and what do you most like about the neighborhood in which you live?
I currently reside on the east side of town in Pierce Township with my dog and cats. I live on a quiet street with the typical suburban feel, and have come to appreciate the calmness after a long busy day.

What do you do in your new position at Roadtrippers?
Any number of tasks, from the basic (expense categorization, journal entries, etc.) to the complex (assisting with VC funding, HR functions, projections/forecasting, financial reporting).
 
What do you like best about this job?
The team. Roadtrippers is filled with intelligent, creative, forward-thinking people who offer a fresh perspective on how to create and run a successful company. From both the team and from my work, I learn something new all the time.
 
What's great about living/working in Cincinnati?
I love the different neighborhoods (OTR, Hyde Park, Oakley, etc.). I’ve lived in Cincinnati for three-plus years and I’m still finding new, awesome things to try all the time!
 
What part of town do you live in, and what do you most like about the neighborhood in which you live?
I live in Hyde Park, and the thing I like most is the “community-feel” of the neighborhood. I try to take advantage of all the great food and outdoor activity options the area has to offer—I highly recommend “Bonnie’s Bounty” at The Echo Restaurant—and it’s an easy, quick drive to get Downtown, as well.

What do you like best about this job?
It's a pleasure to work with intelligent and talented individuals’ every day. The combination of the outstanding leadership and high-quality work we produce makes my job enjoyable.

What's great about living/working in Cincinnati? 
My mother also works downtown and I often meet her for lunch. I also enjoy the culture, atmosphere, and the new developments like Washington Park and Vine Street.
 
What part of town do you live in, and what do you most like about the neighborhood in which you live? 
I reside in Liberty Township with my husband, Kyle, and two rescued pit bulls, Isadora and Brielle. The best part of our neighborhood is our amazing neighbors. It’s also nice being close to great shopping and restaurants.

What do you do in your new position at Sanger & Eby?
Strategic planners wear many hats. My main responsibility is developing, leveraging, and managing content in a strategic and creative way, both externally with client work and internally for Sanger & Eby. 
 
What do you like best about this job?
There are moments when I realize I’m getting paid to be creative. Everyone has career aspirations, but my most fundamental aspiration is just that—my creativity being utilized and leveraged. 

What's great about living/working in Cincinnati? 
Sanger & Eby has been in the West End for about 15 years, long before Over the Rhine’s renaissance. They committed to this neighborhood, and now I’m so lucky to work about three to four blocks away from Vine Street and Washington Park, some of my favorite places in this city. People my age looking for their first job out of college are looking to live and work in this part of Cincinnati, so I’m grateful. 

What part of town do you live in, and what do you most like about the neighborhood in which you live? 
I’m in the process of moving to Mt. Adams. I love that the neighborhood is situated perfectly on top of a hill. Most cities aren’t lucky enough to have that. The close proximity to other neighborhoods like OTR, downtown and Hyde Park is fantastic. I also have a great view of the river from my roof, which will be great if this winter ever ends.

What do you do in your new position at Curiosity Advertising?
I am primarily responsible for overseeing advertising projects from inception to completion, on both the traditional and digital sides of the agency and moving them through all agency departments (account service, media, creative, production). I am also the main point person for all questions regarding project workflow across all departments of the agency.
 
What do you like best about this job?
I get the ability to communicate with everyone at the company on a daily basis, while also getting to see every project from beginning stages to final product. I really like to interact with people, and this job really allows me to do that every day.
 
What's great about living/working in Cincinnati?
It's really neat to see the revival that the downtown/OTR area is having and all of the amazing restaurants and shops that are popping up all around town!
 
What part of town do you live in, and what do you most like about the neighborhood in which you live?
I currently live with my parents in West Chester, but will be moving to Hyde Park at the beginning of March. I don't know a lot about the Hyde Park area and am really interested to see what it has to offer!

I help oversee advertising projects from inception to completion on traditional and digital sides of the agency, while updating timelines and internally prioritizing workloads for these projects.

The best thing about living in Cincinnati is Oktoberfest and how German culture works its way into most Cincinnati traditions.

What do you do in your new position at Curiosity Advertising?
I research social media outlets for consumer opinions, create charts and visuals from quantitative and qualitative data, contact potential research respondents, edit consumer interview videos and post research reports into the CMS system.

What do you like best about this job?
I like the research aspect the best—what I find is always different and exciting when I get out there and do a little digging around.

The best part about growing up in Cincinnati and continuing to live and work here is the familiarity of home and the close proximity to friends and family.

I proofread all of the copy Curiosity produces, including proposals, presentations, creative work, press releases and communication.
 
What do you like best about this job?

Cincinnati has the diversity and progressiveness of larger cities without the overwhelming congestion that typically comes with the territory. Each neighborhood is unique and has something different to offer.

I currently live in Norwood. Despite the fact that it's a quiet neighborhood, I like that I can hop on the Norwood Lateral and get anywhere I need to go in the Cincinnati area in a (relatively) timely manner. Despite the lack of urban activity I'm used to experiencing, I still feel connected.

The E.W. Scripps Company has hired industry veteran Sean McLaughlin as its vice president of news, effective March 6.   
McLaughlin, a dynamic news leader with proven results, joins Scripps from KMOV in St. Louis, where he was executive news director and creative services director. He will rely on his experiences at all levels of newsroom operations in guiding the news strategy for the Scripps television division. His focus will be on journalism excellence, audience relevance and digital platforms.

“I am very excited about Sean joining the Scripps team," says Brian Lawlor, senior vice president of the Scripps broadcast division. “He impressed me so much in his first interview, and it grew from there. He has a history of growing news ratings, most recently taking KMOV from third to first. Sean has a ton of energy and represents the leadership skills that motivate people to want to work hard and to want to win.”

Before starting at KMOV in 2007, McLaughlin was a news director at KTUL, the ABC affiliate in Tulsa, Okla., from 2005-2007. Prior to that, he was the news director at the FOX affiliate in Tulsa, KOKI, from 2001-2005.

From 1996-2001, he developed his insight for news strategy at WICS in Springfield, Ill. He started as an anchor and political reporter but moved up to executive producer and finally news director. He developed his on-air skills as an anchor and reporter at KAAL, in Austin, Minn., from 1994-1996.

Under his leadership, his news team at KMOV received numerous awards including a national Edward R. Murrow Award in 2011 for the documentary State of Education, four regional Emmy Awards and the RTNDA Unity Award in 2009 for A Shared St. Louis.

McLaughlin has a bachelor’s degree in political science and mass communications from Minnesota State University.

What do you do in your new position at WordPlay?
I work closely with diverse student and tutor populations coordinating WordPlay's daily programming activities, focusing on tutoring, literacy skills, academic enrichment, creative activities, social-emotional learning and pedagogical guidance. I develop the WordPlay Handbook and serve on the Curriculum Committee.
 
What do you like best about this job?
