Covington Neighborhood Summit to explore sense of community

On Saturday, March 20 Covington will host its first-ever neighborhood summit at the Providence Pavilion.  Event organizers from the Center for Great Neighborhoods say that Covington now has 19 active, resident-led neighborhood associations, and its neighborhoods are ready to take the next step.

That next step is the 1st annual Covington Neighborhood Summit, a half day event offering workshops that will focus on how leaders can improve their own neighborhoods

'What Makes a Neighborhood Great And How You Can Contribute' will focus on engaging neighborhood leaders, 'What Makes A Great Leader & How Can You Step Up' will focus on improving resident involvement through leadership, and 'How Can You Get Things Done In Your Neighborhood' will get participants thinking about how to improve relationships that can advance your neighborhood's interests.

Each workshop will run simultaneously and be led by a facilitator, who will explain the concepts at hand, and a neighborhood resident who has worked on that particular topic and can share their real world experiences with the group.

The first round of workshops will run from 9:30am to 10:30am, the second round from 10:50am to 11:50am, and the third round of workshops from 1pm to 2pm.

The Summit is free and open to the public, and event organizers are encouraging residents from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati to take advantage of these practical workshops.  It is not required, but reservations are appreciated and can be made by contacting [email protected].
