Giorgione’s “La Vecchia” makes its stateside debut

Visitors can see the Renaissance painting at the Cincinnati Art Museum through May 5.

Renaissance art lovers can travel to the Cincinnati Art Museum to see the recently conserved, 500-year-old “La Vecchia” by Giorgione, a small oil painting that speaks volumes.

The arresting image is a testament to the passage of time, and conveys the inevitable concepts of aging and death through the woman’s expression of weary concern. The painting will be on display through May 5.
