Kroger invests in technology

Kroger is making five key changes in technology and experience to meet shopper’s expectations for better service, experiences, quality, and prices across various areas, including in-store dining and robot delivery.

Some of these adjustments are due to quarterly sales that fell slightly below expectations due, in part, to resources used to fulfill their three-year “Restock Kroger” customer service initiative, as well as reduced product prices.

The transformations demonstrate Kroger’s awareness of the changing retail landscape, and include increasing technology spending by 200% in 2018, which will alter what other food retailers and their shoppers expect from supermarkets in terms of convenience, product selection, and experience.
