Cincinnati a top designer-friendly city

When listing the nation’s top design hubs, people invariably include New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Fortune magazine notes in a recent story about billionaire Tim Headington, who’s working to make downtown Dallas a design-driven destination. But in a sidebar at the end of that feature, the business publication notes that several smaller cities also have sizable design communities — including Cincinnati.

The Queen City “is home to a number of design firms like ad agency Rockfish Digital and Jack Rouse, which designs public attractions including museum exhibits and water slides. Graduates of the University of Cincinnati’s art and design programs help fill the demand for talent,” the magazine notes. Also mentioned in the sidebar are Minneapolis/St. Paul and Columbus, Indiana.
