Uber launches new app in five cities to help urban planners

Last week, Uber launched a new app called Movement Speeds in five cities across the world, including Cincinnati. The app, which was designed to help Uber move forward in partnering with cities, provides specific, hourly data on road speeds, giving transportation planners a view into the functioning of the network.


The data collected is free, available to download, and covers all kinds of city roads and streets. City planners and officials will be able to use it to understand where traffic occurs and evaluate the impact of infrastructure investments.
