Cincinnati Cheetah breaks speed record
An eight-year-old cheetah named Sarah from the Cincinnati Zoo broke the speed record for land animals by covering 100 meters in 6.13 seconds. The previous record was held by a South African cheetah which ran it in 6.19 seconds in 2001. The cheetah ran on a specially designed course at the Cincinnati Zoo’s Regional Cheetah Breeding Facility and was chasing a lure.
