Emersion Design, an architecture, engineering, planning and interior design firm, is little more than a year old, but has grown rapidly in that time. Just since mid-summer, the start-up has hired two designers and two interior designers. It's continuing its expansion by hiring an interior designer and a structural engineer. In its 14 months of existence, Emersion has grown from four partners and three additional staffers to a team of 17.
Emersion was one of three companies visited by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland in March when he toured the
Hamilton County Business Center, the small-business incubator where Emersion's offices are located. The company is holding an invite-only open house Wednesday to celebrate the start of its second year of business.
