Layers of Flavor - Exploring Cincinnati's Food Ecosystem
The inaugural Soapbox Speaker Series, sponsored by the UC Niehoff Urban Studio, kicks off this Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from 5:30-7:30PM, at the Niehoff Urban Studio located at 2728 Short Vine Street.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are now closed.
We'll start at 5:30pm with registration, happy hour reception and light bites provided by Cafe de Wheels and Senor Roy's food trucks, followed by a panel discussion about Cincinnati's food ecosystem at 6:30pm.
Our panel will be moderated by Mary Stagaman, AVP, External Relations at the University of Cincinnati. Mary spent 15 years as a food & wine writer, contributing to Cincinnati Magazine, Cincinnati Enquirer, Zagat Survey, Restaurant Business, and Bon Appetit.
Our special guest panelists include:
Thomas Acito, owner of Cafe de Wheels and member of the Cincinnati Food Truck Alliance,
Joanne Drilling, the new executive chef at Murphin Ridge Inn,
Matt Ewer, owner of Farm Fresh Delivery, and
Karen Kahle, Resource Development Director, Corporation for Findlay Market

This first edition of the Soapbox Speaker's Series is in conjunction with the 2010 Annual Segoe Symposium on Sustainability which originated in the University School of Planning and is sponsored by the Ladislas and Vilma Segoe Family Foundation. Now in its ninth year, the Symposium provides the public a free venue for hearing experts discuss and debate topics related to urban and metropolitan development in Southwestern Ohio.
