Through His Eyes
April 28
You all know Sophocles' classic tale of Oedipus Rex - thanks to required high school reading - the man who, in a nutshell, killed his father and slept with his mother. Well now it's time to get to know the new, modern version of Mr. Rex, the man who lives in a world of jagged, spoken-word poetry and smooth, classical text. Alison Vodnoy has re-imagined the ancient figure in her adaptation, The Eyes of Oedipus, where the King to Beggar is de-constructed along with his sight. Experience the classic tale from the perspective of Oedipus, who roams the corner of McMicken and Vine, blind, lost, and searching for the answers to his tragic past. Get down to Know Theatre of Cincinnati this Wednesday to see how Oedipus -played by Darnell Benjamin - begins to put together pieces of his past and comes apart in the present. The Eyes of Oedipus will show April 28, May 2 & 5 at 7:00 p.m., and May 13-15 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $12.00, and the opening night party will follow the May 5 performance.

When Pigs Run
April 30-May 2
It might be too late to register to run in the 12th Flying Pig Marathon, but it's never too late to enjoy the other Flying Pig festivities. Fountain Square will once again host the "Pig Out" Pasta Party - runners need their carbs - on Saturday with seating times at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Then get down to Yeatman's Cove on Sunday, to congratulate the runners as they cross the finish line, and stick around for the Post Race Party. The party will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with music, food, and fun for the whole family. The Flying Pig Marathon is a great Cincinnati tradition, so don't miss the chance to be a part of the fun.
