Coming Clean: 5 Questions with Sweet Petit Desserts

Taren Kinebrew started baking around the age of five with her grandmother, and later a friend told her she should start selling her desserts for a living — a notion that was, at the time, the furthest thing from her mind. It wasn’t until much later in life she began imagining baking as a career.

Now, Kinebrew’s Sweet Petit Desserts has been located at 1426 Race Street in Over-the-Rhine for the past four and a half years. Along the streetcar path and just a few steps from Washington Park, her shop was one of the first 3CDC tenants in a busy, historic neighborhood that continues to transform.

In this first-ever video version of Coming Clean: 5 Questions, Kinebrew tells Soapbox about the people who helped her shop become what it is today, her plans for the near future and her biggest hopes for ongoing revitalization in OTR.
