Growing Companies

If you're a firm that needs a technologically stacked rendezvous point, the METS Center for Corporate Learning (METS) is the go-to place.

Since its founding in 1999, METS has established itself as large-scale, diverse base that offers spaces, technology and staffing for all things business, from large figures-quoting conferences, to training programs and formal banquets.

And this space, technology and talent get their fair share of use.

With big hitters like Procter & Gamble, Fidelity Investments, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Psion Teklogix and Toyota frequenting its meeting halls and board rooms, METS is making many a corporate client happy.

And at a short ride from Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and downtown Cincinnati, METS caters to the jet set visiting on business, as well.  Further, its web-casting conference room technology allows virtual meetings to go global.

"METS has emerged as a key innovator and provider of critical training services in Kentucky," says
Kris W. Kimel, President of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corp.  "Their programs are centered around the (correct) premise that innovation and creativity are critical to the success of any company or organization in today's economy."

A stroll through METS reveals the creative innovation built into the complex itself, which manages to hold a plethora of meeting spaces, technology and staff, yet remain comfortable.

But offering a comfortable environment to conduct negotiations, training or host a banquet is not the end of METS's capabilities.  METS, or Metropolitan Education and Training Services (METS Services), is also home to a public service division of Northern Kentucky University that offers high-tech consulting to local businesses who are working to raise their performance to higher levels.

One program of note that METS Services offers to those seeking a business upgrade is the 12-week long  MBA Essentials certificate program, which condenses the salient points contained in a traditional MBA into a fraction of the time.

MBA Essentials was created in response to the need for higher educated professionals without time to return to school for a full-fledged MBA, yet need an edge in understanding how to spot trends.

This program is particularly valuable to employees working in leadership roles without requisite business education, who may have trouble carrying out tasks like budgeting, deciphering financial statements, creating marketing plans or leading meetings.

Douglas B. Peet, Plant Manager, Cinergy Solutions, gives a concrete example of The METS Center and METS Services fully tapping their resources.

"The web-casting feature enabled me to participate in the MBA Essentials program from Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles and from home, just like I was in the classroom," Peet says.  "This is the only way I could successfully participate in development programs like this, which benefits both me and my company."

This is business at the cutting edge – location independent, tech savvy, in short, innovative.
