Norwood
Speckled-Bird
The second most populous city in Hamilton County, Norwood is surrounded on all sides by the City of Cincinnati and has grown beyond its early industrial roots to become an ideal neighborhood for young professionals to purchase their first homes. Adjacent to neighboring Xavier University in North Avondale and Hyde Park to the east (Rookwood Common's fancy shopping options are actually in the 'Wood'), Norwood's revamped older homes and tree-lined streets are complimented by beloved family owned restaurants like Sorrento's and Quatman's and countless small corner taverns to dive in for a drink.

Discovering new heart in the city

Tuesday, July 12, 2011
I grew up visiting Findlay Market with my parents every Saturday. My mom and I explored Eden Park while my siblings took weekend art classes at the Cincinnati Art Museum. These were routines, not adventures. Or so I thought. In the eyes of city newcomers, and on the pages of Soapbox, I see the power in revisiting the familiar with a fresh perspective. I see the promise in a publication in which even natives can discover something new about their city every week. It's great to have a Soapbox. Let the next adventure begin.
